Tutorial

The tutorial, consisting of practice questions and instructions for the computer-based examination, has been developed by the NBME (National Board of Medical Examiners). The tutorial has been designed specifically for computers using the Microsoft Windows operating system. It may not be usable on all computer types.

This tutorial is a practice exam; the content of this examination is not to be used as a study guide.
 

To use the tutorial on your computer, you must follow three sequential steps:

1. Download the tutorial

    

2. After downloading to your specified location, double click the InstallFREDABMG.exe icon

    

3. The Fred InstallShield Wizard will appear
    

4. Select the “Complete” Setup Type for installation
    

5. Click “Install” to install the files
    

6. The Wizard will show when the files have been successfully installed; exit the wizard by selecting “Finish”
    

7. The 2009 ABMG Practice folder should now appear on your computer’s desktop. You can also access the program through the Start button, All Programs menu
    

8. Double click the icon to launch the application, and the window below will appear:

   
   

    

   Notice that there are radio buttons at the bottom of the window to specify whether you would like to view the tutorial timed (1 hour) or untimed.
    

9. Select “Tutorial” with the mouse and click “Go” to begin your review.
